Poison Ivy 2.0 // Batman
Completed: November 2012
Worn to: Pacific Media Expo 2012
Inspiration
One of the things I love most about the Batman series are the utterly sociopathic villains, who I find infinitely more interesting than Batman himself (sorry, but I have a thing for villains). I wasn’t 100% pleased with my original take on Poison Ivy (which is also posted in the costume gallery), so I decided to revamp the costume for the ‘Gotham City Sirens’ photoshoot I planned with fellow cosplayers Steffy Quinn and Angi Viper.
Construction
The base leotard is make of metallic green latex, which I commissioned from my favorite latex designer ever Kayla Lael (you can see her work at Vengeance Designs). I then added the leaf details by cutting leaves out from a matching strip of latex and gluing them to the leotard using latex adhesive. The shoes are a pair of ridiculous stripper shoes covered in ivy leaves. Add green tights, a red wig, some flowers and the costume is done!
Photos
I was super excited to be able to do a photoshoot with my friends Steffy Quinn (as Harley) and Angi Viper (as Catwoman) at the Old Zoon in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. With help from photographers Jonathon D. Courtot and Alex Rothauser, we recreated the dynamic Gotham City Sirens trio!
