Rogue // X-Men
Completed: August 2012
Worn to: Comikaze 2012
Inspiration
Growing up, Rogue was without a doubt my favorite member of X-Men. There was just something about her back story and the struggle that she has with her mutant power that really resonated with me…not to mention her tough demeanor and personality. Since I grew up with the X-Men cartoon, Jim Lee’s version of Rogue (complete with the crazy perm) will always be my favorite and this is a costume I really wanted to do justice!
Construction
Green and yellow spandex bodysuit with a front zipper – pretty straight forward. Boot covers are made of spandex as well with some interfacing at the tops to replicate the look of her boots from the comic. The jacket is made of brown vinyl, fully lined, and features corduroy on the lapels and the X-Men logo on the shoulders (also in vinyl). The wig was made ans styled by me into a 1980’s monstrosity. I’ll be redoing the wig in the future to emulate Rogue’s more modern and sleek hair style.
